It may feel overwhelming just knowing where to start to improve our wellbeing. Maybe your team has been through a tough time and you’d like to help support them more. 

Well, we've done quite a bit of research for you in these courses. We draw on some of the best research to support people in building a healthier lifestyle, whatever that may look like for them. 

We aim to help you start to build a personal wellbeing toolkit that works for you. It’s about those small lasting changes not just the big ones that bring about lasting change. 

 

Overview 

This course makes use of videos, discussion, activities, reflection and draws on the latest research to support participants in building a healthier lifestyle, whatever that may look like for them.

2 half days with a gap task

  • Provide up to date content on key components of a healthy lifestyle
  • Provide a summary on current research in brain health, longevity and lifestyle medicine
  • Explore key feature and strategies of resilience
  • Explore potential of mindfulness practice
  • Explore the importance of self-compassion
  • Start to design a personalised action plan

Overview

This half-day First Aid Awards course aims to introduce participants to the concept of mental health, wellbeing and associated illnesses.

Participants will identify and further develop the skills to start a supportive conversation as well as when and how to signpost the person towards professional help.

The minimum age to complete this course is 14. Course numbers are limited to support participants as they learn.

Length 

4 hours including the assessment 

Learning Outcomes

  • Know what mental health is
  • Why people develop mental health conditions
  • Role of a Fist Aider for mental health.
  • Providing advice and practical support for a person presenting a mental health condition
  • Recognise and manage stress
  • Awareness of:

- Depression
- Anxiety
- Psychosis
- Eating Disorders
- Suicide
- Self Harm

Qualification

Assessment will take place through guided video conferencing software by professional discussion with the trainer. There is no grading and learners will either pass or be referred.
